Most children who use complex DME outgrow it long before its useful life is exhausted. For others, their equipment needs may change, necessitating alternative equipment. Our equipment closet functions to collect outgrown or no longer needed DME, refurbish it, and match it to another individual in need.

Families unable to purchase DME for their children or adult child can access it through Ryan’s Place Foundation’s Equipment Closet on a complimentary basis.  We aim to provide easy access to complex DME, ensuring everyone receives the necessary equipment to maintain mobility, independence, and overall well-being.

DME we collect and distribute includes:

• Gait trainers/assisted walking devices
• Standing devices
• Adapted seating systems
• Transfer/ lifting devices
• Specialized wheelchairs
• Adapted bicycles/tricycles
• Portable ramps
• Adapted bathing/toileting equipment

We offer monthly complimentary equipment clinics. A licensed physical therapist will provide instructions on properly using and maintaining the equipment, ensuring that individuals can safely and effectively utilize it.

At Ryan’s Place Foundation, we understand that haircuts can be challenging for people with sensory sensitivities or sensory processing disorders. We aim to create a calm and comfortable environment, ensuring the haircut experience is enjoyable and stress-free for everyone involved.

$30/adult

Haircuts are offered once a month. Appointment required.

Ryan’s Place Foundation’s community social hub facilitates the integration of young adults with disabilities into the broader community to promote overall well-being and quality of life.  The hub aims to provide a community space where our members have the opportunity to build friendships, socialize with peers, and engage in enjoyable and fulfilling activities. Our hub offers an environment where members feel included, accepted, and comfortable to maximize social connections with peers. Activities are focused on participation through fostering creative expression, active movement, and social and leisure activities.
